About Us

We are a not-for profit Christian Child Care Centre operated by the Association of Christian Evangelical Ministries. We have been serving the Agincourt community since 1983. It is our mission and visions to give the children knowledge of God and His creation and of his special love and care.

The centre is fully equipped under government inspections and operated by qualified staffs that provide a warm and loving atmosphere to your children.

We offer toddler, preschool, kindergarten and school age program.
The center is monitored by secured entrance and exit.
We provide in-house hot meals.
Our facility includes indoor gymnasium and outdoor fenced playground for physical activities.

Daily Hours of Service:

7.30 AM – 6.00 PM Full day and school age

9.00 AM – 11.30 AM Half day

Our service is available to children between the age of 1 ½ and 12.

Program Statement:

Good Shepherd Day Care Centre believes that children are competent, capable, and curious and have great potential. We strives to provide a positive, nurturing and inclusive play based learning environment consisting of children, staff and families that work together for the holistic development of the child.
This program statement is consistent with the Ministry’s policy statement on programming and pedagogy and will be reviewed annually.
Under the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014 (CCEYA), the centre is committed to using How Does Learning Happen? Ontario’s pedagogy for the Early Years (2014). This professional document is intended to support program development and to strengthen the quality of our program in which it focuses on four foundations that are essential for the healthy development of children:

  1. Belonging
  2. Well-Being
  3. Engagement
  4. Expression

The following goals will help guide our program to achieve the above four foundations.

  • Promote the Health, Safety, Nutrition and Well- Being of Children
  • Support positive and responsive interactions among the children, parents and educators
  • Encourage the children to interact and communicate in a positive way and support their ability to self-regulate
  • Foster the children’s exploration, play and inquiry
  • Provide child-initiated and adult-supported experiences
  • Plan for and create positive learning environments and experiences in which each child’s learning and development will be supported
  • Incorporate indoor and outdoor play, as well as active play, rest and quiet time, into the day, and give consideration to the individual needs of the children receiving child care
  • Foster the engagement of and ongoing communications with parents about the program and their children
  • Involve local community partners and allow those partners to support the children, their families and staff
  • Support educators and others who interact with the children at our centre to continuous professional learning
  • Document and review the impact of strategies using to support the day care’s program statement

  • Pre-Kindergarten program- prepare your child and get them ready for full- day kindergarten program i.e. Early start on Phonics and Mathematics, daily practice on self-help and self-regulation skill, extracurricular activities- Chinese Lesson, Sign language lesson etc.
  • Parents Club events include: Parenting Workshop, Parent and children game night, Sport night, etc. This program is designed to help parent make new friends in a supportive and relaxing group setting, gain valuable information that will be of interest to the parents, understand how to build a stronger family structure based on Christian values.
  • We are a not-for profit Christian Child Care Centre. Christian education is our focus and to show how it is applicable to our everyday lives.
  • Presentation Development – Two to Three times a year your child is involved in various stage performances to bring out and develop his/her talent.
