Good Shepherd Day Care is looking for motivated, outgoing and enthusiastic Summer Camp Assistants that are engaging and energetic for our Full Day Summer Camp for children in JK – Grade 6.
Camp duration is July 2nd - Aug 30th. Prepare to start a week before the camp start date for training and preparations (June 24-28, 2024).
Candidates should feel comfortable working with children aged 4-12. Previous or current experience teaching and/or coaching is an asset, however not mandatory. Training will be provided to successful applicants prior to start of Summer Camp.

- Administrative skills: Excel, Word, Google Docs, Canva
Job Description and Responsibilities
- Prepare, lead, and implement day-to-day camp activities
- Plan and execute engaging and age-appropriate lessons and programming (group games/sports, activities, crafts) with campers
- Ensure the safety, health, and well-being of all campers in and out of the daycare centre
- Treat all campers with empathy, compassion, and respect
- Maintains constant supervision of campers on field trips and on decided mode of transportation
- Maintain accurate program records in a timely manner (daily attendance, logbook documentation, accident reports, etc.)
- Knows, enforces, and follows all safety guidelines associated with the camp program, including knowing the whereabouts of campers at all times
- Records and is knowledgeable of campers' dietary restrictions/allergies
- Knows and adheres to daycare centre's emergency care procedures
- Assist campers in resolving conflict and mediate their disputes
- Assist daycare staff in cleaning and sanitizing procedures (toys, furniture, physical environment)
